What is flower power?
Flower power is a slogan associated with the anti-war movement of the 1960s in the United States. The concept was described by Allen Ginsberg in a 1965 essay titled “Demonstration as Spectacle as Example, as Communication” published in the periodical Berkley Barb.
Flower power is countercultural, non-violent, creative, transformative and embraces the unique needs of the individual. This framework is applied to medicine, healing, and bodily autonomy.
About Flower Power Physical Therapy
Pelvic floor physical therapy, which addresses rarely discussed issues, has grown in the public consciousness in the past decade. The pelvic floor is involved with sex, reproduction, urination, digestion, and breathing.
Many have privately endured pain and discomfort because they didn’t know how or where to find help. For some, they have symptoms they have never told anyone about.
Others are simply interested in learning more about the unique form of their pelvic floor. They want to know how to accomodate life changes, or how to accept and embrace this seldom voiced part of our bodies.
Flower Power Physical Therapy provides safe and empowering care with respect for the intimacy and for the anatomy of the pelvic floor.
